Heart-to-Heart Community sponsored by the Japan
Foundation
Japan Foundation is the leading non-profit institution
that promotes greater understanding and appreciation of traditional and
contemporary Japanese culture and society. Japan Foundation has provided
funding and logistical support to IEAS for research project, conference,
workshop and publication of research results annually since 2005. All these
original researches sponsored by Japan Foundation provide precious academic
resources for our understanding and exploring the experience of East Asian
across the globe. In addition, Japan Foundation has designated IEAS as
Heart-to-Heart Community in Hangzhou since 2014. By serving the general public in Hangzhou as an important hub for research,
provision of updated vision and deeper knowledge of Japanese culture, it
regularly organizes activities which are heavily attended. All the activities
are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated. IEAS is committed to
foster Chinese-Japanese friendship, mutual understanding and trust.
Office of Umeda Yoshimi Foundation for Japanese
Cultural Studies
In 2014, Mr Umeda Yoshimi
and his wife Mrs Umeda Setsuko set up Umeda Japanese Foundation for Japanese
Cultural Studies as a private foundation administered by IEAS for an initial
period of five years. IEAS students are competitively selected each year to
visit diverse regions inJapanfor cultural experience under the sponsorship of it.
