Two IEAS
Professors, Dr Wang Yong and Dr Chen Xiaofa, are appointed chief executive
officers for the Sino-Japanese Cultural Exchange Picture Exhibition in the
Twenty-Fourth Tokyo International Book Fair 2017.
2017 will mark the
45th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations. Activities at both the governmental and
non-governmental levels are organized to facilitate
the fostering of good harmonious Sino-Japanese relations, friendship, mutual
trust and understanding. As an official commemorative
event and a guest of honor of Tokyo International Book Fair, this large scale Sino-Japanese Cultural Exchange
Picture Exhibition together with the book launch of a series of books edited by
Professor Wang Yong and Professor Chen Xiaofa under the single format of History
of Sino-Japanese Cultural Exchange (中日文化交流史文库) will
facilitate the spirit of good neighborliness and friendship.
The Sino-Japanese Cultural Exchange Picture
Exhibition is co-hosted by Zhejiang Publishing United Group, Institute of East
Asian Studies of Zhejiang Gongshang University and School of Humanities of
Zhejiang University. Professor Wang
Yong and Professor Chen Xiaofa are chief executive officers. Through
representations, pictures, photos and material objects, China’s long and
complex multi-channel, multi-facet, multi-form cultural interactions with Japan stretching back over at least two
millennia will be displayed. A special committee for the Sino-Japanese
Cultural Exchange Picture Exhibition is now in full swing at the IEAS. Senior
government officials, relevant county and city leaders of Zhejiang Province,
and presidents of universities in China and Japan will be invited to be
consultants and participants in this meaningful significant event.
