One Asia Foundation aims to contribute to the
establishment of Asian Community in the future. As an academic activity under
the sponsorship of One Asia Foundation to advance this purpose, IEAS had
consecutively held three One Asia Foundation Seminar Series for its students
since 2013. Famous scholars were invited to deliver lectures on Asian society,
culture and folkfore. On 7 April 2016, Professor Wu Guanghui of Xiamen
University delivered a lecture on how Chinese translators understood and
appreciated Yasunari Kawabata's combination of traditional oriental beauty with
his unique writing skills. Yasunari
Kawabata (11 June 1899-16 April 1972) is the first Japanese winner of Nobel
Prize for Literature on 16 October 1968. He is the representative of post-war
Japanese novelist famous for unique lyrical and subtly-shaded prose.
