The Innovation Center for Collaboration of East Asian Studies with Peripheral Diplomacy (ICCEASPD) (东亚研究与周边外交协同创新中心)
With a 25 years history of academic development dated back to Hangzhou University in 1989, IEAS has a proven track-record in academic excellence. In 2014, the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province designated IEAS to set up ICCEASPD, which is a nexus where East Asian studies meets peripheral diplomacy. ICCEASPD, based in IEAS, is at the nexus where East Asian studies meets peripheral diplomacy.
With Profssor Wang Yung and Professor Chen Xiaofa acting as Center Director and Program Director respectively, ICCEASPD is a think tank committed to outstanding research and innovation by building bridges between academia and practical diplomacy in a multidisciplinary perspective for theoretical and practical knowledge in international relations with peripheral East Asian countries, combining historical depth with the complexity of cultural, political and economic spheres, and diplomatic practice. ICCEASPD provides a platform of the resource and stimulus for Chinese and oversea scholars to innovate, in partnership with ICCEASPD researchers, to function as a dynamo for the development of East Asian studies as a soft power of unique Chinese characteristics.
