Aiming at achieving international academic excellence and influence, IEAS fosters the study of contemporary and historical East Asia in global perspective, disseminates academic knowledge about this region through focusing on East Asia-related research projects and serves as the intellectual gathering point of scholars for it globally. The long-term goal of IEAS is to develop into one of the foremost research institutions on East Asian studies at the economic, social and cultural service of Zhejiang Province.
